Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

People everywhere are celebrating the 100th anniversary of Dr. Seuss’ birth, with reading events, art shows and (we hope) general good-natured silliness. In San Diego, The Geisel Library at the University of California San Diego — home to the more than 8,000 items in the Dr. Suess Collection including the original sketches of The Cat in the Hatis dedicating a statue and launching a yearlong series of exhibits. The U.S. Postal service unveiled a stamp. Random House maintains www.seussville.com which keeps track of the major events, like the dedication of Dr. Suess’ Hollywood Walk of Fame star on March 11.
