In a seven–figure deal with Bantam, Dean Koontz sells four books in a new series, Dean Koontz’s Frankenstein. The series is “based on a contemporary retelling of the Frankenstein story and co–written by New York Times best–selling author Kevin J. Anderson,” says Publisher’s Lunch.

Seabiscuit author Laura Hillenbrand sells a book to Random House about about Louis Zamperini, “an Olympic athlete and Army Air Force bombardier who, in 1943, crashed into the North Pacific Ocean and survived 47 days at sea in a small raft, and then endured two years of imprisonment in a Japanese prisoner of war camp before being freed at the end of World War II.”
