Del Olmo’s times

Although reportedly out of the book business, the Los Angeles Times has just released a collection of 90 columns from Frank del Olmo, the 33-year Times veteran and associate editor who died of a heart attack at the Times offices in February, 2004. Frank del Olmo: Commentaries on His Times includes columns on politics, Mexico and Central America, Latino California, unions, journalism and mass media, education, sports, immigration, law enforcement and the military, and autism. Proceeds from the sale of the book will benefit the Frank del Olmo Memorial Scholarship Fund established by the California Chicano News Media Association and The Times. Learn more about del Olmo and the book — which was co-edited by his wife, Magdalena Beltran-del Olmo — at yahoo.com/prnews. You can get the book here.
