Book deals

From the latest Publisher’s Lunch dispatch:

• Screenwriter and lit blogger Mark Sarvas sells his first novel, Harry Revised (”about a guilt-ridden, down-on-his-luck widower, who tries to reinvent himself following his wife’s untimely death”) to Bloomsbury for publication in winter 2008. Mark shares the backstory here.

• LA writer Hilary De Vries sells her next book, The Cooking Lessons (”about four sisters negotiating their relationships after the death of their mother”) to Dutton.
