Sample Listing:
Known for celebrating California’s small towns, Gerald Haslam has published eight collections of short stories, including The Other California, That Constant Coyote and Condor Dreams. He also is the author of Workin’ Man Blues: Country Music in California, Manuel and the Madman, and Straight White Male. He lives in Penngrove.“Gerald Haslam writes wonderfully about the California that few of us know, the farmlands and oilfields of the Central Valley, and the children of the “Okies” who grew up there. His characters may grow up and move away, but they’ve been formed by the Valley and never really leave it in spirit.” — Cyra McFadden

Submitting your listing: Filling out the form
To submit your listing, use the form here. Some tips for filling out the form:
In Section 1: Build your listing as you would like it to appear
• Author Name. (required) Enter your name exactly as you would like it to appear in the directory.
• Author Bio/Books. (required) Please submit a concise paragraph that sums up you and your work, approximately 40 to 65 words. You’ll want to include your most recent book titles and your location in California so that people will know where to find you. (Event organizers often tell us that they often use the Author Directory to book speakers for events.) We will include bookstore links to your books where available. Note: Your Author Directory listing should not include dated event information. Instead your author listing should be a timeless entry that will interest readers in your work. Readers can then follow the link to your website or your publisher’s website to learn more.
• Quote. (optional) You may include a blurb. Please put only the quote into this blank. For example:
“Wonderfully wry-melancholy….An auspicious and stirring debut.”
• Quote attribution. (required if you have chosen to include a blurb). In this field, please enter the quote author and his/her publication. Please use the format below: person, comma, publication.
Michiko Kakutani, The New York Times
• Website. (optional) You can enter your website’s URL here. If you don’t have a site, you can point to your publisher’s site. Please use the format: http://www.example.com
• Email. (optional) You can enter your public email here. This address will be published as a way for CaliforniaAuthors.com readers to contact you. Please note: publishing an email address on the web can increase spam you receive at that address. If you do not want to include an email address, please enter “none” in this field.
• Booktour URL BookTour is “the world’s largest, 100% free directory of author events,” and when authors enter their event information at BookTour, the listings show up in CaliforniaAuthors.com’s events search results — and also reach users of BookTour.com and its other strategic partners, like goodreads.com. Learn more at BookTour.com or click here to sign up and list your events. It’s free! If you are a BookTour.com author and provide your BookTour author page URL (example: http://booktour.com/author/donna_wares) in your directory listing submission, we will include a link to your listed events.
